Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Murphree will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Enon Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Liberty Mortuary.

William James “Billy” Murphree, 39, of 104 Porter Road, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenville, he was the son of Linda Sanders Murphree of Liberty and the late William Franklin Murphree. Billy loved the outdoors, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his fiancé, Jessica Dawn Meyer of the home; his daughter, Mackenzie Jane Murphree of the home; two sisters, Belinda McBride of Liberty and Debbie Harden(David) of Liberty; and his niece and nephew, Megan and Ethan McBride.

Billy was Aunt Ethel's favorite nephew. I can still see him taking her a ride on his "dirt bike" or whatever it was when we were visiting many years ago. I remember how upset he was when you all came to visit her in the nursing home for the last time...she had failed so much. Then she asked him to be a pall bearer at her funeral...again he was upset. They loved each other. They are rejoicing in Heaven now. I pray for the whole family to have peace and comfort after this unbelievable tragedy. Love and prayers, Aunt Jean

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Billy, personally. However, his sister, Belinda, is a co-worker of mine. My heart hurts for your family and I pray each of you can find some sort of peace in the happy memories. I have heard how Billy was a pleasure to be around, great family man and wonderful friend.
