William Hilton “Pete” Sheffield

Funeral services to honor Pete’s life will be 11:00 AM Saturday morning, March 29, 2014 at Brooklet United Methodist Church, where his body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Brooklet Cemetery, in Brooklet, GA. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, 502 Miller St. Ext., Statesboro, GA 30458.

William Hilton “Pete” Sheffield, 53, Our Loving Brother, of 2173 Railroad Bed Road, entered into Eternal Rest, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born September 1, 1960 in Statesboro, GA, he was a son of the late Emmitt Hilton and Bobbie Ellen Howell Sheffield.

He was a member of Brooklet United Methodist Church in Brooklet, GA. He retired from the Public Works Department of the Town of Brooklet. Pete was a fun loving, caring, and giving individual who sincerely loved his family.

Surviving are four sisters, Glenda Brown and Janie Sheffield both of Liberty, Loveta Key (Mike) of Pickens, and Irene Stewart (Jerry) of Garfield, GA; a brother, Lonnie Sheffield of Gaston; Nieces and Nephews, Christopher O’Neal, Samantha Sheffield, Brittany Bickel, Ashley Griffith, Jamie Sheffield, Kathryn Holcombe, Shannon Baldwin, Aaron Key, Stephanie Sheffield, and Andrew Key; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Sheffield.

The family will be at the home.
