Walter Boone Chastain, 77, of 149 Chastain Street, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home. Born in Pickens he was a son of the late Oscar Nelson and Rebecca Powell Chastain.
He retired from US Finishing in Greenville and was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley McMurray Chastain of the home; three sons, Walter B. “Walt” Chastain, Jr. of Easley, Ricky Chastain of Pickens, and James Lesley of Liberty; three sisters, Lucille Chastain of Pickens, Minnie Lee Brooks of Fountain Inn, and Libby Edwards of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Skipper Chastain of Lancaster; 8 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
All services will be private.
The family will be at the home. Liberty Mortuary and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
