Tommy Joe Whitlock

Graveside services with military honors for Mr. Whitlock will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Liberty Memorial Gardens. Mr. Whitlock will be available for viewing Monday from 1:00 until 5:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary.

Tommy Joe Whitlock, 71, of 105 Summit Drive died Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Liberty, he was a son of the late Marion Franklin and Inez Gaines Whitlock. He was a 1962 graduate of Liberty High School and afterwards he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Duke Power and was a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge #235 A.F.M. He was a member of Calumet Baptist Church.

Surviving are 2 sons, Mike Whitlock of Pickens and Sam Whitlock of the home; a daughter Toshia Whitlock of Newry; a sister, Joan Stephens of Liberty; 2 brothers, Gary and Dolan Whitlock both of Liberty; grandchildren, David, D.J. and Jacey Whitlock, Bane and Nikki Chapman, Ethan and Drew Alexander, Hailey Fennell and Kadyn Stancil; and great grandchildren, Samuel Dalton, Bentley Dwight and Caleb Whitlock and Grace Lynn Sprouse.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675. The family will be at the home. Liberty Mortuary is handling arrangements.
