Samantha Scrivner, 45, of 105 Millwee Creek Road, died Thursday, March 18, 2021 at her residence. Born in Tampa, Florida, she was a daughter of Charles and Kayce Shusterman of Pendleton. She was a 1994 graduate of Liberty High School. She enjoyed reading and crafting. Samantha was a very caring person who always went out of her way to pass along a kind word or do something for someone in need.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her beloved fiance, Joe Rowland of the home; a sister Kristina Shusterman of Pendleton; a brother Ben Shusterman (Jennifer) of West Union; her nieces, Elliana and Aubrey Shusterman who were the light of her life; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials in her memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF 200 Vesey Street, 28th Floor New York, NY 1028, or to the charity of one’s choice.

I’m just shattered that my mate has passed, we always enjoyed much banter and friendship over the years. We never met but certainly always checked in on each other, you always talked fondly of family, the fur babies and kids , only to complain about the inability of US post to deliver on time ? Deepest sympathy to Joe , Kayce and the family, this lady was always thinking of others before herself, never one to complain except to say ‘ yeh I’m ok !’ Will miss you ❤️ Roo

Sincere condolences to Sam's family and friends. I never met Sam in person but had the pleasure online and we spent many a day messaging and laughing. You didn't need to meet her to feel her warmth, kindness and love. She was beautiful inside and out, super witty and intelligent, a little firecracker. I'm sure her spirit is flying high, carefree and happy, Miss Sam you will be hugely missed xxx

Samantha was the sweetest, most pure people I've ever known. I met her at a time in my life when I was going through a medical crisis, and I will always cherish the clarity and perspective I gained from talking to her. I can honestly say that I'm a better person for having my her. My heart aches for her, and the people she left behind. She always spoke highly of her family. I hope the prospect of her resting peace comforts all of you that feel the ache that I do. Bless you all.

My deepest condolences to Samantha's family. I "met" her via facebook years and years ago. She was always so funny, kind and easy to be friends with. I heard countless loving stories about Joe and my heart hurts for him. Rest well, sweet friend.

So sorry to hear about Sams death. I was her home bound teacher twice. Once when she went to Liberty Elementary and once when she was at Edwards Middle. I also did testing with the Rottenberries and Shustmans at Clemson University.

I am so happy to have been able to call Sam a friend. I prayed for her often, even though it was from afar. Rest easy, sweet Sam.

My heart breaks knowing I’ve lost my cousin. Words can’t express the grief I feel. To know I will never hear a smart remark from you. No more calls or texts. No more laughing over silly songs we used to make up and sing. I love you and miss you so much already. Until we meet again.

I am so very sorry to Sam's family. Sam was a friend of mine online for a number of years. I had just reconnected with Sam a few days ago because she asking my husband how I was doing. I learned about what she had been going through. I'm so heartbroken that the world has lost such an amazing light. Samantha never had a bad word to say about anything and was always positive- despite what she was going through. Sam you will be so missed. RIP my friend.

Although I was never able to meet Sam in person, we were online friends for many years. I enjoyed my many conversations with Sam. Even though Sam was fighting her many medical battles, she never discounted anyone else’s issues. Looking back, our problems were minuscule compared to what she was going through. I am truly saddened by her passing and I pray for comfort to her family and close friends in the days, weeks and months to come that you seek comfort in the beautiful memories you have. Rest in paradise, Sam. We miss you!
