Funeral services for Mrs. Whitlock will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at East Side Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday Evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
Ruby Vera Gantt Whitlock, 88, of 15 Hedgepath Street went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Born in Liberty, she was the widow of the late Roy William Whitlock and a daughter of the late Charlie and Maude Powell Gantt. She was retired from Woodside Mills and a member of East Side Baptist Church. She was a Godly woman who loved her family, church and friends.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Joy Whitaker and Anita Gillespie(Jim) both of Liberty; a sister, Eunice Alexander of Liberty; 5 grandchildren, Missy Ricken(Richard), Mandy Partain(Tommy), Jody Whitaker(Dana), Jamie Gillespie and Tracey Roach(Jereme); and 10 great grandchildren, Brett, Chad and Hope Ricken, Michelle and Miranda Dalton, Kip Partain, Hannah and Houston Whitaker, Austin Snow and Landen and Colby Roach.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Louise Waldrop; and 4 brothers, Gene, William “Beno”, Dwight and Roscoe Gantt.
