Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Brown will be held at 10:00 AM Monday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Ruby Riggins Brown, 87, of 800 Kelly Mill Road, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Baptist Easley Hospital. Born in Pickens, she was the wife of John Earl Brown, Sr. for almost 71 years and a daughter of the late Glen Craig and Bula Murphree Riggins. She was retired from Sangamo Electric and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as farming, sewing, quilting and baking. She was a member of Prater’s Creek Baptist Church where she attended the Minnie Entrekin Sunday School Class.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are; two daughters, Wanda Scales and her husband Larry of Spartanburg and Betty McCord and her husband Pat of Cedar Bluff, AL; a son, John Earl Brown, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Central; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Reba Duckworth; and a brother Harold Riggins.
