I was a teenager when Rev. Mahaffey, his lovely wife Oneida, and their wonderful boys came to live for a time in the missionary home at Mountain Creek Baptist Church in Greenville. I was impressed so much by the whole family and have always considered it a blessing to have known them. It has been many years since I last saw them, but I have never forgotten them or the joy they brought to our church. Phil, you were a dear friend to my sister and me, and we have thought of you through the years. I am praying for all of you during this difficult time of loss, and I thank God for the wonderful impact Rev. Mahaffey's well-lived life had on so many people. He was a great servant of God. With love, Ruth Smith Driggers

I am so sorry to hear about your dad and loved one. My sisters and I would have come to the memorial service if only we had known. I always had such respect for Mr. And Mrs. Mahaffey when they were at Mountain Creek Church and then hearing news from Thailand. It is so hard when a parent passes missing someone who taught you, loved you and was with you all your life. I have fond memories of your family and please know we are praying for all of you.
