Rachel Gillespie Coleman

Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Coleman will be 11:00 AM Saturday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Rachel Gillespie Coleman, 75, widow of Charles Bernard Coleman, of 10 Pinewood Drive, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Liberty she was a daughter of the late Henry Grady and Mae Melton Gillespie.

She operated the R&J Shop with her father for many years, and was a member of East Side Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons and daughters in law, Greg and Cindy Coleman of Easley, and Matthew and Jane Coleman of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Dustin Coleman (Lauren) of South Bend, IN, and Amanda Davis (Mark) of Anderson; one great granddaughter, Emma Davis; a sister, Mary “Bo” Davis of Liberty; a brother, Norman Gillespie of Moncks Corner.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, Carl, and James Gillespie.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621.
