Perry Lee Kelley, 62, of Pickens Drive, died Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Anmed Health Cannon Hospital. Born in Easley, he was a son of the late Clyde and Lucy Davis Kelley.

He was a 1977 graduate from Liberty High School and was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Persian Gulf War. Mr. Kelley was a custodian at Liberty High School and walked to and from work daily no matter the weather. Over the years he made quite an impression on many students, faculty and parents. Perry would never forget a name or face and always welcomed a good conversation. He was a member of First Baptist Church-Liberty.

Surviving are brothers, Pat and Paul Kelley; uncles, Forrest and Kenneth Kelley; an aunt, Betty Merck; and numerous cousins.

Perry I never got the chance to say I'm sorry, and now you are in heaven live free brother I love you

Perry was a super nice fella and Liberty won't be the same without seeing him around school and town. I offered him a ride on many occasions before I found out he enjoyed walking so much. Each time he'd thank me and say "I'll take a rain-check if you don't mind". Thankful to have known him. :)

What a genuinely sweet and caring person he was. I gave him a ride several times even after my daughter Jordan graduated and it always amazed me how he still knew the names of so many of the past students and could tell little positive anecdotes about them. He will be missed by many.

I remember back in school how kind and sweet you were. You always listened to what some of us had to talk about regardless if you cared or not. You were a good man. Rest easy. You’re flying high now.

Perry's mother was a co-worker with my mother and I have been a friend with one of his cousins for almost 73 years. My sympathy is extended to Perry's family.
