Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Farr will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the mortuary.

Mrs. Oleta Sanders Farr, 76, of 210 Sunset Drive, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2013. She was blessed with 3 extra years after being diagnosed with cancer. Born in Liberty she was the daughter of the late Samuel Elijah “Lige” and Hassie Smith Sanders.

She graduated from Furman University with a Bachelors in English and later did graduate studies at Clemson University. She taught English and Drama for 29 years between Greenville & Pickens County School Districts. Mrs. Farr was a longtime member of Liberty United Methodist Church, and was a former board member and driver with Pickens County Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Jennings Farr of the home; a daughter, Jan Carden and her husband Bill of Richmond, VA; a son, Roy Farr and his wife Deborah of Columbia; four grandchildren, Drew Farr, Amanda Carden, Alexis Carden, and Robbyn Young.
