With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of our beloved Vada Mae Porter Tulauskas, who peacefully passed away on May 25, 2024, at her residence in Liberty, SC. Born on June 8, 1955, in Anderson, SC to the late Lou Nelle Stevenson and Fletcher Porter. She was a 1973 graduate of Crescent High School and she worked for over 30 years at Sauer-Danfoss.

Vada Mae found joy in the simple things in life – whether it was casting a line while fishing for bass, trying her luck at the casino, or spending quality time with her family. She had a special place in her heart for animals and dedicated herself to giving back to the community through her support of the Pickens County Humane society and the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

Vada Mae was a devoted mother to her daughter Sonya Campbell and her son Jim Moss and his wife Amanda. She cherished her time with her siblings Teresa Malloy, Rose Ellen McDaniel, and Charles Porter. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren, Megan Johnston(Mitchell), Cade Moss and Parks Campbell, and two great grandchildren, Walker and Hollyn Johnston. They were all her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her precious pups, Barney and Moose.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, William Porter.

We invite you to honor Vada Mae’s memory and celebrate her life at the visitation held at Liberty Mortuary on May 30, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00pm.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the Pickens County Humane Society by visiting www.pchumanesociety.orgThe family also would like for you to consider making donations of blood and platelets at your local blood bank.

Though we mourn her loss, Vada Mae’s spirit will live on through the memories she created with those she loved. Let us come together to cherish those memories and celebrate the life of a woman who brought light and laughter to all who knew her. May she rest in peace.

With heavy hearts we will miss this very dear and sweet friend and neighbor. A loving mom/ grandma and true friend to any that she met and a mom to her furbabies. We will forever remember and miss her. Our prayers and thoughts are with all who knew and loved her.

Vada used to cut my hair when I was a little boy. Her and Teresa gave me my nickname Anthony Herbert and still call me that. Our last conversation she told me she missed herUncle Perry and she is up there with him now.

Our sincere condolences to Sonya, Megan, Parks and all the members of their family. Ms. Vada was a special woman who made those she hardly knew feel at ease and welcome. She lived her life doing the things she loved with the people she loved. May her memories be cherished by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
