It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Harbin “Ms. Pat” Massey, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on July 5, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on January 8, 1947, in Greenville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Harbin, Jr. and Katherine Tripp Harbin.

Patricia, affectionately known as “Ms. Pat,” dedicated her life to caring for others at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, where she retired after 40 years of faithful service.

She was a vibrant soul who embraced life with open arms, and she had a true love for music. She had a passion for sports, especially enjoying Clemson Baseball, and her laughter and enthusiasm were contagious to those around her. Above all, Pat found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren, creating countless memories that will be cherished forever by her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Chari Arnett (Jeromy); her son, Chad Massey (Jodie); and her two brothers, Hank and Kenny Harbin. Also surviving are 4 granddaughters, Olivia Massey, Emily Cannon (Ben), Anna-Claire Massey, Lillie Arnett, Together, their love for her will continue to shine brightly as they celebrate her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Bryan Harbin.

A private ceremony and burial will be held for the family.

Though Pat may have left this earthly realm, her love and light will forever remain with us, guiding us and inspiring us to embrace life just as she did.

Pat and my mom were long time friends. When I stayed with my grandparents during the summers, Pat would come get me and her children and I would go to Furman and have a picnic. One of my best memories!

Dear Chad, Chari and your whole family, Duke and I are so sorry for your loss. We have many fond memories of singing in the choir at Buncombe Road with Pat and just sharing good times at church. She was a loving, caring lady. Our prayers are with you in the coming days. We're thankful that she's with Jesus where there's no more sorrow, tears or pain. Love you all.

Ms. Pat, thank you for all the memories over the years knowing you when I was younger. You, Chad, and Chari were all my family at heart. You sung at my wedding when me and Karrie got married, and loved hearing you sing at Buncombe rd Baptist Church. Ms. Pat, thank you for being like a second mom to my late sister Natasha which loved you so. To the family: I love you all and let all the great memories of your mom, grandmother, or even friend be the reminder of the great person Ms. Pat was to you and so many. Ms. Pat was a special lady. I had talked to her many times over the years scheduling surgery for the Doctor I worked for at the time. It was after we both retired that we met in person. She loved her family! You all are in my thoughts and prayers! Susan Bagwell
