Mary Marlene Dunn
Liberty, SC
It is with heavy hearts yet joyful spirits that we celebrate the life of Mary Marlene Dunn, who left us on October 23, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on October 17, 1950, in Easley, South Carolina, she was the widow of Pinky Jay Dunn and a daughter of the late Roy R. and Mattie Ruth Waldrop Richards.
Mary lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family. A proud resident of Liberty, SC, she crafted a treasured life not only through her work but also through her devotion to those she loved.
Mary dedicated many years of her life to the textile industry at Alice Manufacturing, where her talent as a weaver shone brightly. A hardworking woman, she infused every piece she created with care and artistry, a reflection of her own unique spirit.
Above all else, Mary cherished her family. She is survived by her beloved daughter Cathy Howard, son Johnny Dunn (Tina); a companion, Shirley Fowler; a sister, Betty Lou James; also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Justin, Austin, Madison, Lane, and Levi Howard, Jay Dunn, Savanna Dunn, Haylee Schwartz, and Jaiden Dunn; two great grandchildren.
Her days were often spent surrounded by their laughter, whether it was during visits or family gatherings. Mary’s love extended beyond her immediate family; she also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as shopping, which brought her joy and comfort.
In celebrating Mary’s life, we acknowledge her loving spirit and the indelible mark she left on all who had the privilege of knowing her. We find solace in knowing that she embraced life fully, with an open heart and a welcoming smile.
The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
Mary’s journey in this world may have come to an end, but her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. We will honor her memory with love and gratitude as we say goodbye to a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.
