It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Evelyn Ross, who left us peacefully on August 21, 2026, at Lila Doyle Post-Acute in Seneca, South Carolina.

Born on August 6, 1939, in Norris, SC, she was the widow of McIllwain “Wayne” Ross and a daughter of the late Alvin Thomas “AT” Mann and Lela Pilgrim Mann. She led a life filled with love, creativity, and connection, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, delighting in every moment spent with them. Family gatherings were her joy, and her infectious laughter and warm spirit will be deeply missed.

In her career in retail customer service, Doris brought her warm demeanor and unwavering kindness to everyone she encountered. She had a special talent for making others feel valued and appreciated. Outside of work, Doris loved indulging in her passions for crafts, particularly her fondness for dolls and clowns, which reflected her playful spirit and creativity.

Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Davis (Danny), her daughter-in-law, Sandra Lesley; two sisters, Aliene Grant (Jerry), and Linda Kay Bethea (Rick); one brother, James Mann (Ann); two grandchildren, Jason Davis (Metha) and Joshua Davis (Shawna); also surviving are 4 great-grandchildren, Truby, Tessa, Alexia, and Braydn Davis.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her son, Steven Anthony Lesley, and two sisters and two brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Golden Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held.
