It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Jane Walters, who left this world on October 20, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on November 20, 1949, in Tokyo, Japan, she was a daughter of the late Samuel William and Velma Garrett Walters.
Brenda made her home in Liberty, South Carolina, where she became a beloved pillar of her community.
She was a devoted member of Prayer Baptist Church, where she fulfilled the role of Sunday School Teacher and passionately engaged in a multitude of ministries. Her unwavering faith and dedication to prayer were evident as she consistently uplifted her church family and friends, embodying the true spirit of love and support.
A proud mother, Brenda is survived by her two sons, Gene Ray (Melissa) and Jeff Ray, and her cherished granddaughter, Courtney Lee (Noah), and her very special great grandchildren, Easton and Melody. She also leaves behind her sister, Pat Walters (Scott), who was a constant source of encouragement and companionship throughout her life.
She dedicated many years to her work at Shaw Industries before continuing her journey at Hamricks in Easley. Her joy for life was often expressed through her love for cooking, bringing family and friends together around the dinner table to share meals and laughter.
Funeral services to celebrate Brenda’s life will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, October 26, 2026 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:30 PM at the mortuary.
In this time of sorrow, let us gather to remember Brenda’s loving spirit and the countless ways she touched our hearts. She will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our memories.
