Betty Carolyn Hawkins Perry of Greer, SC, also known as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on May 12, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in Liberty, SC, she was a daughter to the late Van and Ruby Wardlaw Hawkins. Betty worked as a seamstress in the textile industry at Springs Industries for many years before retirement.

She was a devoted family woman, finding joy in spending time with her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kind and gentle nature endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She found comfort in simple pleasures, often watching her favorite game shows like The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal.

She is survived by her son Tony Perry and his wife Pam of Lyman; a daughter Diane Satterfield and her husband Gary of Easley; and sister Martha Ann Smith of Anderson; 2 granddaughters, Heather Montgomery (Monty) and Emilee Crooks (Jon); 7 great-grandchildren, Alex “Red Top” Montgomery, Collin Montgomery, Madison Montgomery, Brayden Auld, Haiven Auld, Zane Satterfield and Elizabeth Mae Satterfield. She also has one great-grandson to be born in June. Through her family, Betty’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Samuel Auld and Jamie Satterfield; a brother, Horace Hawkins.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, SC, at 11:00 am, where she will be laid to rest near her parents. No formal visitation is planned.

Betty Perry will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. May her spirit live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
