Alma Marie McJunkins, a cherished mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023, at her residence in Liberty, SC. Born on April 23, 1968, in Pickens, SC, she was a daughter of the late Albert E. “PeeWee” and Mary Crowe McJunkins.

She was known for her radiant smile and kind heart, will be deeply missed by her beloved children, John Couch (Ann), Isaac Couch, Deanna Couch, and Jolyn Couch. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love will forever be remembered by her siblings, Mary Wegman, Kathy Taylor, and Buck McJunkins. Her memory will also be treasured by her adoring grandchildren, Jonathan, Amber, Wayne, Justice, Gracie, Albert, Daisey, and Mary Ann.

Though she faced life’s challenges with grace and strength, her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, cooking favorite meals, or engaging in playful games, Alma delighted in creating lasting memories with her loved ones. She found solace and joy in the simplicity of life, particularly through her favorite mobile games, Candy Crush and June Journey.

She embraced her role as a mother and sister, offering unwavering love and support to her family. She dedicated many years of her life working at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center, where she provided care and comfort to those in need. Her compassionate nature and selflessness touched the lives of many.

To honor Marie’s life, the family will hold a memorial at a later date.

Though she has left our physical realm, her spirit will forever live on in our hearts. Her legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance will continue to inspire all of us who were fortunate to have known her.
