Thelma Nichols

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Thelma Valerie Nichols, who passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at the age of 91, in Central, South Carolina.

Born on April 18, 1934, in Rosman, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Adgie Anders Ball.  She lived a full life, filled with love, hard work, and dedication.

Thelma was known for her warm heart and kind spirit. For many years, she worked as a spinner in the textile industry at American Enka, where she poured her energy into her work and took great pride in what she did.

Surviving are a daughter, Antonia Merck (Lamar), and her wonderful grandchildren, Ty Merck, Adam Merck, and Holly Hollingsworth; also surviving are four great grandchildren, Eden, Sierra, Lyric, and Jacob.  Each of them carries a piece of her warmth and resilience, ensuring her legacy of love lives on.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Renny McLean.

Private burial will be held at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
