It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Kay, who left this world peacefully on October 23, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on May 2, 1938, in Greenville, SC, she was the widow of Charles Lewis Kay and a daughter of the late Rev. Shirley E. McNeely and Lillie Chastain McNeely.

Shirley was a beloved mother, a cherished friend, and a devoted member of the Greenville Christian Fellowship community.

Shirley dedicated her life to her family, pouring her love and nurturing spirit into her two sons, Barry Kay (Karen) and Ken Kay (Tammy). She is also survived by a brother, Charles C. McNeely along with 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her through every challenge and filling her heart with love for those around her. Shirley’s warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered for her unwavering support and compassion.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will take place at 2:00 PM On Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026 at Greenville Christian Fellowship where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share stories of love and laughter.

As we say goodbye, let us hold her memory dear and find comfort in knowing she is at peace. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Shirley’s honor. Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time.
