Sheila Ellenburg
Liberty, SC
It is with both heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Sheila Ellenburg, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and nana, who peacefully left us on January 1, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 13, 1957, in Pickens, SC, to the late Elzie and Louise Roper Chapman, Sheila brought joy and laughter to everyone she met during her life.
Sheila was a devoted homemaker but had previously worked at Dayco and Cornell Dubiler.
Her greatest achievements were her two sons, Jason Ellenburg and David “Monty” Ellenburg (Brittany). She was a loving wife to her husband, Daniel Cleveland Ellenburg for over 50 years, and a cherished sister to Bethel Davis, Ethel Stephens, and Tony Chapman (Debbie). She also cherished her three loving grandchildren, Natalie, Gavin and Ashlynn. Her family was her pride and joy, and she loved nothing more than spending quality time with them.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Judy Bates.
An avid fan of the Gamecocks, Sheila’s spirit shone brightest during game days, where her enthusiasm was infectious. She had a special love for animals and found joy in their company, treating each one as a member of her family. In her quieter moments, Sheila delighted in crossword puzzles and game shows, always challenging her mind with a smile.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate her life and her husband Daniel will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2025 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. They will be laid to rest together at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 until 12:30 pm at the mortuary.
