Sandra Sexton Hopkins
Foley, AL
Sandra Michelle Hopkins, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend left this world on September 29, 2023, at the age of 58, to be with her Heavenly and earthly fathers. Born on September 20, 1965, in Greer, SC, she was a daughter to Pauline Durham Sexton of Liberty and the late Buddy Terrell Sexton. Sandy was a caring and selfless woman who brought joy and love to the lives of all those around her.
Sandy was a true homemaker in every sense of the word. Her family was always her top priority, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their care and happiness. Whether it was cooking their favorite meals, keeping their home warm and inviting, or offering a listening ear, Sandy’s love knew no bounds. She had a natural talent for nurturing others and truly made a difference in their lives.
Having graduated from Liberty High School in 1983, Sandy cherished education and imparted her knowledge and wisdom to younger minds. She found great joy in teaching children, and her expertise was evident in the preschool where she worked. Her patience, kindness, and genuine love for the little ones left an indelible mark on their lives.
Sandy had a deep connection with God and nature, and her favorite retreat was the beach. Walking barefoot on the sandy shores brought her solace and tranquility. Her love for the beach, the salty breeze, and the calming sound of the ocean was a testament to her free-spirited nature and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.
Left to cherish her memory in addition to her mother are her devoted husband, Scott Hopkins of the home; her adoring daughter, McKenzie Hopkins of North Augusta; her thoughtful brother, Stan Sexton; her caring sister, Rebecca Oglesby (Scott and Kylie); and her treasured nephew, Zack Gossett (Rebecca’s son) all of Liberty. Sandy’s spirit will live on through the memories shared with her family and friends.
To celebrate the beautiful life of Sandra Sexton Hopkins, a funeral service will be held at Liberty Mortuary on October 5, 2023, at 3:00 pm. Friends, family, and all who knew Sandy are invited to pay their respects and share their memories prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:30 PM at Liberty Mortuary. Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest at the head of her loving father who passed away in 2018.
While the loss of Sandy leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, let us remember her with joy and gratitude for the love, warmth, and care she brought into our lives. In her memory, let us strive to be as selfless and compassionate as she was, honoring her legacy in kindness and unconditional love.
