Memorial services to honor Rose’s life will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the mortuary.

Rose Jeanette Wilson Burkett, 77, of Central, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Cottingham Hospice House. Born in Highlands, North Carolina she was a daughter of the late William Sampson and Annie Belle Lamb Wilson.

She worked many years at the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, and later retired from the Clemson University Police Department.

Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Joe Burkett of the home; a son, Tim Burkett (Penny) of Central; 2 daughters, Becky Shirley (Tim) of Central, and Sherry Burkett (Rodney Grant) of Central; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Burkett (Tyler Ann), Noah and Jonah Burkett; 2 great granddaughters, Elliott Ann and Emersyn Renee Burkett; a brother, Gary Wilson (Loretta) of Highlands, NC; a sister, Marcia Chastain (Den) of Highlands, NC; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by special friends, Travis and Molly Grant along with their family, and also, Tim and Tamra Webb and their family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Wilson, three sisters, Willene Robinson, Wilma Fendley, and Leigh Anne Wilson,  two nephews, Billy Wilson and Mitchell Wilson, and a niece, Tammy Roberts.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Cottingham Hospice House, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca SC 29672.
