Peggy Stewart

With heavy hearts our precious Peggy Busha Stewart, 88, of Liberty SC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 14, 2022, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born on November 11, 1933, in Pickens, SC she was the daughter of the late James Henry Busha and Rosa Anna Anderson Busha.
Peggy married her husband Charles “Chuck” Stewart, of 70 years, on November 22, 1951, Thanksgiving morning in Easley SC in the home of preacher Oscar Stewart. She was predeceased by her two sisters Helen McAlister-Racine and Jo Ann Chandler. She was a graduate of Liberty High School.
Surviving in addition to her husband of Liberty; Two daughters; Lynn Palmer (Mike) of Six Mile and Charlotte Lowe of Liberty; a brother, Charles Busha of Greenville; Four grandchildren; Michelle Smith, Chris Youngblood (Alison), Tim Youngblood (Katie) and Chelsea Lowe (Jason); also surviving are ten great-grandchildren; Karen Youngblood (Josh), Abreigh, Adeline, Abella, Hailey, Emma and Allie Youngblood, Blakely Smith, Gabe Smith, and Bryson Smith (Mariah) and one great-great-granddaughter; Danni.
She will be missed dearly and we will continue to remember her by the wonderful memories we each shared with her. Peggy enjoyed reading books, working the daily crosswords and thrifting in her spare time. She loved to play Jeopardy or her trivia game creation called “Ask and Ans” rewarded with quarters, challenging someone in scrabble and playing the piano.
Funeral services to honor Peggy’s life will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, February 18, 2022, in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
