Pauline Gilstrap

Central, SC

Pauline Ross Gilstrap, 73, of Central, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at her residence. Born in Seneca she was a daughter of the late JB and Brodie Ables Ross.

She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Larry C. Gilstrap of the home; a daughter, Jodie Campbell (Dale) of Williamston; three sons, Brian Chapman (Amy) of Belton, Ricky Gilstrap (Cynthia) of Liberty, and Jimmy Gilstrap of Taylors; a sister, Florence O’Neal of Norris; also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

In addition to her mother and father she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Chapman, a brother, Jack Ross, and five sisters, Louise Bates, Frances Ross, Joyce Johnson, Betty Dickard, and Inez Bryant.

Graveside services will be held 11:00AM Monday, November 22, 2021 at Liberty Memorial Gardens. No formal visitation is planned. To leave a memory or a message you may visit libertymortuary.com. Liberty Mortuary, Liberty SC.

When Barbara, Sheila and I were young girls, our mother (Louise) would take us ‘loafing’ to visit Grandma, Pauline, and Joyce (who lived next door). During the summer, we would sit by the little stream that they called the ‘branch’. The ladies would share the latest gossip. And even though I didn’t even know the people they were discussing, I truly enjoyed being in the company of these ladies. My mother considered her sisters her best friends just as I consider my sisters my best friends.

Larry, I am so sorry for you and your family's loss.

We were blessed to have you in our lives and now we have you and the memories in our hearts forever

I’m so sorry for y’all’s loss. Mama Pauline was my second mama growing up. She will greatly be missed. Rest in the arms of Jesus, until we meet again sweet lady.
