With profound sadness, yet faith in God’s promise of eternal life, we announce that Mary Jane Pratt, 78, of Easley, South Carolina, was peacefully called home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 28, 2026, after a courageous and lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Born on November 8, 1947, in Greenville, South Carolina, Mary Jane was the beloved daughter of Lang Erious Kelly and Alice Zelma Richey Kelly. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Paul D. Pratt, and her beloved brother, John W. Kelly.

Mary Jane was a woman of unwavering faith, quiet strength, and extraordinary kindness. She found joy in life’s simple blessings and devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. Whether tending to her beautiful gardens, preparing meals that brought loved ones together around the table, or traveling to create lasting memories, Mary Jane’s greatest happiness was found in sharing life’s moments with those she loved. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome, reflecting her remarkable gift of hospitality and her servant’s heart.

Throughout her life, Mary Jane wore many hats with grace and dedication. She was a loving homemaker, a talented cosmetologist, and later served as the office manager of the family business. Regardless of the role she held, she approached every responsibility with integrity, compassion, and humility.

More than any title or occupation, Mary Jane treasured being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her love and example: her son, Paul David Pratt, Jr., and his wife, Stephanie; their son, Braden, his wife, Fallon, and their sons, Easton and Kaden; her daughter, Alicia Frances Pratt Boyko, and her husband, Paul, and their children, Ben Coleman, Bailey Hicks, and Josephine Boyko; and her son, Kevin Daniel Pratt, and his wife, Marcy, and their daughters, Madison and Brooklyn. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love she poured into each generation will continue to be her lasting legacy.

Mary Jane’s life was firmly rooted in her Christian faith. She was a faithful member of Liberty First Baptist Church for many years and most recently a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Her steadfast trust in God guided every aspect of her life and sustained her through life’s greatest joys and deepest trials. Even during her battle with Lewy Body Dementia, her faith remained an enduring testimony to all who knew her.

Mary Jane will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering faith, genuine kindness, generous hospitality, and selfless love for others. Her life was a blessing to all friends and family who knew her, and her legacy will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched with compassion and grace.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her family rejoices in the promise of Christ and the assurance found in His Word:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.”

Funeral services to honor Mrs. Pratt’s life will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:30 am at the mortuary.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, hospice staff, friends, and church family who walked alongside Mary Jane during her journey with compassion, dignity, and love.
