Margie Fowler
Liberty, SC
On Friday, December 6, 2024, at the end of a very full life, surrounded by the unshakable love of her family, Margie’s spirit left her body and was lifted to heaven to join her Lord and Savior.
Margie was born in Liberty, SC, on September 22, 1933. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Earl Franklin Fowler. Margie was one of 14 children born to the late Rome and Ollie Owen Bryant and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of Calumet Baptist Church for over 60 years. Her mother was a founding member of Calumet, and the church family was instrumental in her unwavering faith.
Margie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was known for her kind and gentle manner and her wicked sense of humor. She was selfless and poured her heart and soul into taking care of her family.
Known as Mimi to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they always knew where to find the chocolate chip cookies and knew that she would gladly sneak them more when their parents weren’t looking! Margie was a great country cook and would whip up her famous homemade sausage biscuits and chicken pot pie for them when they were visiting. She nurtured and loved them unconditionally.
Margie was a valued friend to many in the close-knit neighborhood where she lived the past 68 years of her life. Her home was one where family and friends would gather for meals, a piece of cake or cup of coffee. Her selfless nature made it a home full of warmth, laughter, and a lot of love. She will be sorely missed as “The Matriarch of the Hill”.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her loving and devoted caregivers that allowed them to give their mother the gift of remaining in her home during her long battle with Alzheimer’s. Each of you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
