Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Newton will be Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central, SC.

Margaret Ann Wehrer Newton, 93, died Friday, October 14, 2022 at Manna Post Acute Care in Pickens. Born in Snyder, CO, she was the widow of Willie Doyle Newton and a daughter of the late William and Annie Bartholomew Wehrer.

Mrs. Newton was a kind and generous lady who was loved by all. She was very creative and enjoyed working with her hands doing needlework, crocheting, painting and gardening. She was the owner for many years of Marge’s Ceramics. Her favorite hobby was collecting dolls and admiring them with friends. Margaret was of the Baptist faith. She loved all animals, and held her beloved dog, Mocha, in her arms when she met Jesus.

Surviving are her sister Lillian Knight of Easley, many nieces and nephews, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her greatly.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her previous spouse, James W Newton; a daughter, Ardith Ann Campbell; and siblings Vivian Ferguson, Johnny Wehrer, Donald Wehrer, Larry Wehrer, Pearl Nichols and William Wehrer Jr..

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Manna Post Acute Care and Traditions Hospice for the love and care that Mrs. Newton received during the past few months.
