Marcia Jo “Marcie” Mathis Owens, 60, of Owens Street, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Prisma Health-Baptist Easley. Born in Pickens, she was the wife of 41 years to Raymond “Buddy” Owens and a daughter of the late Boyd and Marie Phipps Mathis. She was a licensed beautician and loved her rose gardens, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended Liberty Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Chris Owens(Amber) of Liberty and Michael Owens of the home; a step-son, Randall Owens of Easley; three sisters, Gail Looper of Easley, Becky Mathis of Easley and Sheilla Galbreath, of Liberty; two brothers, Allen Mathis, of Liberty and Scott Mathis, of Easley; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Joe Owens; a step-daughter, Denise Harris; two brothers, Stanley and Jeff Mathis, two sisters, Liz Vaughn and Lynn Mathis.

My favorite memory was for years I could never understand how she always managed to bring her pea salad to family gatherings. Always got stuck doing the dishes with her. But it was ok always loved doing the dishes with her. We would laugh and before u knew they were done. That was the best thing about Marcia she always looked for happiness and not sadness not because there was no sadness because there has been plenty in her life. Why dwell on the sadness when u can laugh and remember the good times. I am so sorry - there are no words that can take the pain away.
