With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Louise Gravley Harrison, a beloved mother, friend, and cherished member of our community, who left us peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on June 18, 1940, in Liberty, South Carolina, she was the widow of Jim Harrison and a daughter of the late Walter Carey Gravley and Lillie Gilstrap Gravley Bryant.

A proud graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1959, Louise dedicated herself as a devoted homemaker, finding joy in the everyday moments of family life. Her home was filled with the fragrance of her favorite baked goods and the beauty of her lovingly tended gardens. She had a creative heart, finding solace in painting and expressing her thoughts through poetry, which she often shared with those close to her.

She is survived by her loving children: Rev. Regina Harrison, Russ Harrison (Lyn), Rob Harrison (Beth), and Joseph Harrison (Sara), who carry her memory and values in their hearts. She is also survived by a brother, Walter Carroll Gravley, and 10 grandchildren, Zach Shaw (Taryn), Abby Lee-Zampi (Chiah), Brittany Harrison, Samantha Shaw Morales (Adrian), Allie Boland (Jake), Madison Harrison, Alex DiLeo, Sydney Harrison, Zoey Harrison, and Jack Harrison; five great grandchildren, Sebastian, Sammy, Rhodes, Sophia, and Nova.

Private graveside services will be held at Liberty Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by four siblings, Martha Pace, Avanelle Gaunce, Faye Sanders, and Mac Gravley.

Dear Regina & family: I am so very sorry to hear of Liz's passing. She was a sweet cousin and I will miss our occasional chats. Please know you are in my thoughts & prayers.

My deepest condolences to Louise's family and friends! I have known Louise and family since Elementary School and graduated with her at LHS. Renewed friendship in the late seventies resulted in several visits and meeting her children and have been friends since. Louise was my classmate at LHS and a dear friend. My thoughts and prayers are withy all her family.

I have such good memories of conversations with Louise. The interaction between my family and hers goes many years back..our mothers were good friends, and my association with Louise’s siblings, Faye and Mac, holds fond memories as well. Rest in peace, dear Louise.

My heart is breaking for all of Louise's family for your loss. She was a very special cousin, whom I loved very much. Praying for God's peace and comfort for you during this sad time.

Louise was the main person who continued to bring together the 1959 graduates of Liberty High School. She kept records and was the leader of most of the reunions. After her husband Jim died, she turned over the responsibilities to other graduates who were willing to take those responsibilities for three additional reunions. She enjoyed talking with and sharing memories with her long-time friends from Liberty High. She will leave special memories to many of those long-time friends. My sympathy for the family and their loss.

Sad to hear of Lou Lou’s passing. She was perfectly imperfect and we loved laughing with her. Hugs and love to each of you from the Denning family!!
