With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Louise Gravley Harrison, a beloved mother, friend, and cherished member of our community, who left us peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on June 18, 1940, in Liberty, South Carolina, she was the widow of Jim Harrison and a daughter of the late Walter Carey Gravley and Lillie Gilstrap Gravley Bryant.
A proud graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1959, Louise dedicated herself as a devoted homemaker, finding joy in the everyday moments of family life. Her home was filled with the fragrance of her favorite baked goods and the beauty of her lovingly tended gardens. She had a creative heart, finding solace in painting and expressing her thoughts through poetry, which she often shared with those close to her.
She is survived by her loving children: Rev. Regina Harrison, Russ Harrison (Lyn), Rob Harrison (Beth), and Joseph Harrison (Sara), who carry her memory and values in their hearts. She is also survived by a brother, Walter Carroll Gravley, and 10 grandchildren, Zach Shaw (Taryn), Abby Lee-Zampi (Chiah), Brittany Harrison, Samantha Shaw Morales (Adrian), Allie Boland (Jake), Madison Harrison, Alex DiLeo, Sydney Harrison, Zoey Harrison, and Jack Harrison; five great grandchildren, Sebastian, Sammy, Rhodes, Sophia, and Nova.
Private graveside services will be held at Liberty Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by four siblings, Martha Pace, Avanelle Gaunce, Faye Sanders, and Mac Gravley.
