Joyce D. Polsinello, 75, of Clydesdale Ct., died very suddenly on Saturday morning, April 20, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital, in Greenville, SC, with her husband Frank, and son, Derek, right by her side until the very end.
Joyce was born in Albany, NY, on April 23, 1948, the daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn Allen Andres. She graduated from Guilderland High School and attended Russell Sage College.
Joyce began her career as the first administrative secretary to the Director of the NYS Intelligence and Identification System, which later evolved into the NYS Division of Criminal Justice, where she continued to work in the newly established division. Joyce eventually retired as the Executive Assistant to the NYS Director of the Budget after many years of public service to the people and State of New York.
In her retirement, Joyce was a consultant for the Schenectady Police Department, examining policies, procedures, and making recommendations to the department. Joyce later worked at Ferri’s Formal Bridal Shop in Schenectady, NY, as a bridal consultant, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Joyce resided in Guilderland, NY on Randomwood Drive with her husband and son for over 20 years. Joyce then relocated to Liberty, SC, to be with her first grandchild and grandson, Leo Paxton Polsinello, in 2018. Leo was the light of Joyce’s life and his Nana. Joyce was then elated to welcome the arrival of her granddaughter, Pazia Penelope Polsinello, into this world in 2020.Pazia filled Joyce’s heart even more. Joyce spent every day until her very last, loving and helping raise Leo and Pazia. They were her world.
Joyce was a devoted communicant of St. Gabriel’s, St. Madeline Sophie, and Christ the King churches.
Joyce was predeceased by her beloved parents, Edward and Evelyn Andres; her siblings, Edward (Marge) Andres, Joan Andres Budka, and Bruce Andres.
Joyce is survived by her beloved husband Frank D. Polsinello. They celebrated 42 years of devoted marriage. Joyce is survived by her children, Derek (Tori) Polsinello, Frank J. Polsinello, Dr. Mark (Laurie) Polsinello, Colleen (Matthew) Franklin; cherished grandchildren, Leo Polsinello, Pazia Polsinello, Logan Polsinello, Julia (Frank) Labbate, Maddy Franklin, Hanna Franklin; Joyce’s God-daughter, Sandy Cirilla; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10 am at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Avenue, Westmere, with the Rev. Leo Markert, officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, Schenectady on Thursday, April 25, from 4-7 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
