Jessie Lee Crumpton Smith, 90, of Liberty, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Salem, she was the widow of Raburn R. “Railroad” Smith, Sr. and a daughter of the late Charlie P. and Mary Kelley Crumpton.
She retired from Ohio Gear and was a long time member of Liberty First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Ballew (Tim) of Landrum, and Vicky Chappell (Barry) of Liberty; 2 sons, Randy Smith (Debbie) of Easley, and Lane Smith (Tracy) of Liberty; 7 grandchildren, Alicia Lewellyn (Austin), Tim Ballew (Jennifer), Delana Ballenger (Jacob), Melanie Bishop (Tyler), Sarah Chappell, Cara Smith, and Chloe Smith; also surviving are 10 great grandchildren, Eliza, Troy, Beckett, Bo, Luke, Lily, Layla, Aiden, Amaya, and Emery.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Smith, and 6 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services to honor Mrs. Smith’s life will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Liberty First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 until 1:45 PM at the church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621.

Jesse, was a kind loving soul. She loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed family time. I was a part of the family for a short time as an in-law, but she always treated me as family. Some of my best memories were when all the family was at the lake camping out and at Christmas. She would spend days making Christmas goodies for all the family. I still use some of the recipes she gave me. You were a special person and I will always hold you in my heart.
