Janet Louise “Weezy” Galbreath, age 86, of Easley, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on September 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 2, 1937, in Jamestown, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Roger and Grace Hottenstein Brown.
Janet, a devoted homemaker, had a heart filled with love for her family. She cherished their presence and enjoyed spending quality time together, creating beautiful memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Janet had a deep passion for astronomy, the signs, and their meanings. She would often immerse herself in books, exploring different realms of knowledge.
Janet lived a fulfilling life, and her absence will be deeply felt by her loved ones.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Smith (Wally) of Central, her sons, Mike Galbreath (Debbie) of Titusville, FL, Brian Galbreath of Easley and Bruce Galbreath of Easley; three sisters, Elaine Gross, Judy Willer, and Jennie Hancox; 3 brothers, Dave, Larry, and Skip Brown; 10 grandchildren, Misty Kearney, Shawn Galbreath, Jennifer Galbreath, Jason Fowler, Brittany Smith, Katie Harmer, Katelyn Johnson, Kim Galbreath, Kaley Galbreath, and Jacob Smith; also surviving are 11 great grandcildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Fowler, a son, Joseph Mark Galbreath, and a great grandson, Haiden Parker. She was also predeceased by the father of her children, Haskell C. Galbreath.
A funeral service to honor Janet’s life will be held 11:00 Friday, September 8, 2023 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow the service at 1:00 PM on Friday at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, 301 W. Main Street, Walhalla SC. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Shawn Galbreath, Jacob Smith, Jason Fowler, Jason Kearney, Amos Parker, and Zachary Sanders.
Janet Louise Galbreath brought joy and warmth to the lives of those around her. Her spirit and loving nature will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
