Memorial services to honor Faye’s life will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Liberty United Methodist Church. The family will have a reception following the service in the church social hall.

Faye Gravley Sanders, 90, formerly of Liberty, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Liberty, she was the widow of Cecil Wayne Sanders and a daughter of the late Walter Carey Gravley and Lillie Gilstrap Gravley Bryant.

Faye was a longtime member of Liberty United Methodist Church.

In the early years of her marriage, she loved farming and canning all the vegetables they grew.

She enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach with her late husband following his retirement but most of all she loved and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Surviving is a daughter, Donna Rogers (Ken) of Liberty; a son, Rick Sanders (Cindy) of Liberty; one sister, Louise Harrison of Clemson; two brothers, Mac Gravley of Liberty, and Walter Carroll Gravley (Louise) of Anderson; 9 grandchildren, Genny Sanders (Dallas), Lori Simpson (Randy), Brandon Vinson (Stephanie), Scott Sanders (Jenn), Derek Vinson (Shay), Stephen Sanders, Elizabeth LaFleur (Russ), David Rogers, and Patrick Rogers (Haley); also surviving are 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Avanelle Gaunce and Martha Pace.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621, Liberty United Methodist Church, 310 Mae Street, Liberty SC 29657, or the charity of one’s choice.

I was formerly married to fayes nephew by marriage on the Sanders side. She and Wayne were always kind to me. I have notified her neice and nephew as we were not aware of her passing. Prayers are with Donna and all the family

Our sincere condolences & prayers for the family of Mrs. Faye. We had the priviledge of meeting Mrs. Faye at NHC when my Mama became her roommate! Everytime I visited Mama as I passed Faye's bed I was always greeted with the biggest smile & hello. She was the sweetest & caring lady always telling me to be careful driving home! She loved the Frostys from Wendys & the Homemade Banana Bread & that made my day as she was so appreciative. She will be missed by mama & me! Praying the family will be sustained by God's grace, mercy, strength, & comfort in the days ahead.

Donna, Rick, Mac and family, Please accept my heartfelt condolences in Faye’s passing. She was always so nice to me, friendly and helpful. She was a very dear friend to my mother as well. Donna, I’ll never forget you’re being my flower girl in my wedding!! Mac, you’ve been a friend forever it seems! You are all in my thoughts during this difficult time.

To the entire family of Faye Sanders, I remember Faye from many dinners at KFC after church for several years. She was a very sweet person who we thought the world of and looked forward to seeing her every week. I will always remember her. She loved her family and talked about you often and especially her husband Wayne. May you find comfort during this difficult time. Prayers for the family.

Dear Ricky & Donna & Family: We are so sorry to hear of Faye's passing even though it was her wish to go home to be with the Lord and the love of her life, Wayne. She was a sweet cousin and I miss the "cousins get together" on Monday nights. Please know you are in our hearts, thoughts & prayers. We love you!
