Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Smith will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 3, 2022 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will be at Long Creek Memorial Gardens.

Edith Monteen Lee Smith, 85, of Reece Mill Road, died Friday, May 27, 2022 at her son’s home in Liberty. Born in Walhalla, she was the wife of Odell Smith of the home and a daughter of the late Myrtice Lee. She enjoyed knitting and crafting and watching television, especially old westerns and the shopping channels. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Wanda Stephens (William) of Central and Shirley Pilgrim (Steve) of Norris; two sons, Nolan Moore of Walhalla and Eric Moore (Angie Bowen) of Liberty; a step-daughter, Kimberly Monroe (Dwayne) of Piedmont; four step-sons, Jim Smith (Tania) of Rosenburg, TX, Ricky Smith of Pelzer, Alan Smith (Lorrie) of Liberty and Jeffery Smith of Liberty; a sister, Sybil Long of Live Oak, FL; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Moore; a daughter, Basha Moore; a brother, Joe Blanton; and two step-sons Tony and Eric Smith.

The family will be at their respective homes.
