In loving memory of Chris Day Porter, the cherished wife of Gary P. Porter, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Easley, she was a daughter of the late Ben Frank and Clara Lois McGuire Day.

In addition to her husband, she was the beloved mother of Amanda Gessell (Ben), and sister to Sherry Curtis and Susan Cuddy. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Kaden, Maya, and Cullen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Michael Ben Day and Kathy Lynn Day.

She worked hard at varying positions throughout her life all while also being a dedicated homemaker who found joy in spending time with her grandchildren and relished family trips to the beach. She was the perfect mix of fun, tough, and a little bit of crazy all in one!!! The love and strength shown by her remains as impressionable influence that echoes through the lives of anyone touched by her presence.

A celebration of Chris’s life will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, August 31, 2024 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the mortuary. Following the service family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life at Steven Cuddy’s home, 112 Sugar Maple Dr., Pickens SC.

Throughout her life, Chris touched the hearts of many with her kindness and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. It is with great sadness that we announce her passing and the upcoming ceremonies in honor of her memory.
