The world has lost a kind soul as we announce the passing of Catherine Riggins Patterson on March 15, 2024, at the age of 76, following an extended illness. Born on October 18, 1947, in Six Mile, SC, to the late George and Ressie Dodson Riggins, Catherine leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Catherine dedicated her life to serving others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Rosemond. Her caring nature touched the lives of many, and her commitment to helping those in need was truly remarkable.
Catherine’s love for her family knew no bounds. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert K. Patterson. They had been together for over 53 years. Her adoring children Travis Patterson (Amy), Cindy Hall, and Diane McCall (Lee), and sisters Lucille McCollum, Avenell Hendricks, and Sarah Trotter. She was blessed to have 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Cooper; a sister, Elizabeth Young; a brother, Charles Riggins and a grandson, Robert Luke Patterson.
In her free time, Catherine found joy in cheering on her Clemson Tiger Football team, and showering affection on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her radiant smile and warm presence will forever be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
To celebrate Catherine’s life, a visitation will be held at Liberty Mortuary on March 19, 2024, from 12:00 until 1:30 PM, followed by a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 2:00 pm.
Although Catherine may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on through the memories and love she shared with everyone she met. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
