William Fred Koontz, 69, beloved Husband, Son, Father, Step-father, Brother, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on July 14, 2023.

He entered this world on June 10, 1954 in Sparta, TN, a son of the late Fredrick Simon and Eva Ruth Frasier Koontz.

Mr. Koontz could be described as faithful, trustworthy, and loving. He was always there for anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, reading his scripture and devotions, but most of all spending time with his family. He was a member of Easley First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Pattie Koontz of the home; three daughters, Karolyn Koontz Shocknesse, Melissa Koontz Bentley, and Detta Gillespie (William); a son, Jeffery Stone (Misti); two brothers, Anthony Dale Koontz (Crickett), and Timothy B. Koontz; also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Dwain Koontz.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to, Easley First Baptist Church, 300 East First Avenue, Easley SC 29640.

Services for the family will be private.
