We come together to celebrate the life of Thomas Dale Evatt Sr. following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 31, 1954, he was the son of the late Thomas Eugene and Evelyn Lee Evatt. He was a 1972 graduate of Seneca High School. Known for his passion for NASCAR and his adoration for the legendary Dale Earnhardt, Dale had an impressive collection of memorabilia that told stories of thrilling races and unbeatable drivers. His love for classic cars was unparalleled, having owned over a hundred in his lifetime and always finding joy in attending car shows.
A dedicated family man, Dale cherished his time with his beloved spouse Kathy Miles Evatt, to whom he was married for almost 52 years. He also leaves behind his son Thomas Dale Evatt, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Six Mile. His granddaughters Hannah Guerrero (Ezequiel) and Emily Evatt were the light of his world. He had a special bond with each of them and showered them with love and affection. His nicknaming everyone around him showed his playful and endearing nature, making him a favorite among his family and friends.
After a fulfilling career as a health physicist for over 30 years with Southern Company at Hatch Nuclear Plant in Baxley, GA. Dale retired, leaving a lasting legacy in his field. As a proud US citizen, he embodied dedication and commitment in every aspect of his life, leaving a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Join us in honoring Thomas Dale Evatt Sr.’s life with a visitation held at Liberty Mortuary on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm, followed by a service at 3:00 pm in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Following the service, he will be laid to rest near his parents at Courtney Memorial Cemetery in Newry, SC.
Though he may have left this world, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be touched by his kind and vibrant soul. Here’s to a life well-lived, to memories cherished, and to the everlasting legacy of T. Dale.
