A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Chastain will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the mortuary.

Steven Kirk Chastain, 78, of Highland Terrace, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at his residence. Born in Easley, he was the husband to Diane McAlister Chastain for over 35 years and a son of the late Harold Chastain and Lois James Davis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served our country during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years at Platt Saco Lowell from where he retired and started his own heating and air business. Steve was a mason for over 51 years and was a Past Master at Liberty Masonic Lodge No. 235, A.F.M. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Scott Chastain of Liberty and Jason Chastain of Danielsville, GA; a brother, Kerry Chastain of Shelby, NC; and two grandchildren, Molly Chastain of Pickens and Stone Chastain of Liberty.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Chastain; and a sister, Jennifer Hellams.
