In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith Larkin Abraham, his siblings, Nancy Abraham Markovich and husband Jim, Delores Abraham Patrick and husband Don, and his beloved daughter, Bonnie Abraham-Mikami, and his best buddy and son in law, George Belan.
Richard received a BS in electrical engineering with honors from Carnegie Mellon University and received his MSEE from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for several companies during his career, the last being Westinghouse and Schlumberge. His work required extensive travel and speeches on Just-In-Time Technology. He published over fifty technical papers.
He was of the Catholic faith, a life member of IEEE as well as Past President and Board Member of (CASA) Computer & Automated System Assoc. and The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). He was also past officer of Robots Institute of American & CASA.
He served his country in the US Army Reserves where he was a 2nd, Lieutenant. He retired at 51 but was never one to sit still. He decided to get a real estate and broker’s license for the purpose of buying a few investment properties. He loved playing bridge and dabbled in the stock market. Dick loved his home and enjoyed watching football and basketball. He also loved playing games with the grandchildren especially Apples to Apples where his dry sense of humor shined. He also loved playing Busara with his grandson Daniel. Throughout the years he enjoyed the grandchildren’s concerts, plays, and many sporting events. He had a love of architecture, especially Frank Lloyd Wright’s, Falling Water.
He leaves a legacy of integrity, honesty, and compassion for his fellow man. He would not want us grieving him but celebrating a life well lived with lots of desserts and ice cream. His last words to his precious wife and grandson Daniel were “I’m Happy!”.
