A memorial service to honor the life of Scott will be held at 2:00 PM Monday August 14, 2023 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the mortuary.

Nathan Scott Smith, 61, of Theodore Drive, died Sunday, August 6, 2023 at his residence. Born in Easley, he was a son of Jimmy Dale Smith of Liberty and the late Clara Anne Davis Smith.

Scott enjoyed reading and was a Civil War buff, but his lifelong passion was music. He was an accomplished saxophonist and had played with many famous musicians over the years such as Percy Sledge, Randy Travis and Helen Cornelius. He played for many years for Fox Fire at the Silver Fox.

Surviving in addition to his father are his stepmother, Susan Smith of Liberty; three brothers, Greg Smith(Kathy) of Pickens, David Smith(Lisa) of Pickens and Tim Smith of Easley; a sister, Sharon Skillman of Pickens; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
