Michael Wayne Farmer, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on December 25, 1958, in Pickens, SC, he was a son of the late Jay William and Sarah Elizabeth Brezeale Farmer.
He lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering passion for family and friends.
A proud resident of Pickens, he was known for his skill as a mechanic, owning and operating Keowee Muffler & Brake. He tackled all things automotive, specializing in exhaust systems with the same dedication he brought to all aspects of his life. His deep passion for cars is an enthusiasm that he was able to share alongside his sons, Daniel and Jesse.
He was a cherished member of Fairview Baptist Church, where he found community and friendship. His faith in Jesus guided him, and his warm spirit touched everyone he encountered.
When he wasn’t working, you could find Michael drag racing cars, which became a cherished family affair, blending excitement with the camaraderie that defined his relationships. He also loved spending time on the water, fishing with his boys, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Evelyn Farmer; his two sons, Daniel Farmer (Tasha) and Jesse Farmer (Cheyenne); his siblings: Brenda Stewart, Jan Thompson, and Billy Farmer; also surviving are four grandchildren, Aubrey, Beth, Anna, and Kaydance. His family stands united in honoring the impact he made on their lives and the lives of others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Farmer.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 6, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 12:00 PM Noon Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Fairview Baptist Church, 1106 Robinson Bridge Road, Liberty SC 29657. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park following the service.

Michael’s light will continue to shine through the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
