Lorna, and Ellen I am so sorry Mike has passed. I didn't know he was sick. I cannot get out much anymore. I remember the vacations our family spent at Myrtle Beach in the 1960s. I have a picture of Mike with my dad. Mike was on a bowling team my dad sponsored when Mike was maybe 15 years old. I still think of those days. I May God bless you both. Willie Stansell jr.

Uncle Mike, I've been trying to find words....I just want to say thank you! I have such good memories at your house as a kid! Circumstances kept us apart, but I have never forgot all you gave to me in those times spent at your house! You were always there, always made me laugh, had the best hugs and I know you loved me as if I was your own!! You gave me a sense of security I didn't understand until I was an adult and I thank you for that!! I can't believe you are gone, but I know I will see you again one day.....I look forward to those giant hugs from the gentlest soul! I LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Cuzzin Mike, the elder cuzzin on Mama's side. The first memory that comes to mind is a visit y'all made to us when we lived on Church Street. It was spring, Mom and Aunt Lorna in the house, Dad and Uncle Hal out golfing. Jeff climbed that big pecan tree in the backyard. A bunch of us took BB and pellet guns into the woods. I remember you giving us tips on aiming and how to properly carry a rifle when trudging through the brush. Keeping me Rusty and Mark inline when we needed it, and when the 3 of us were together we needed to be kept inline. You were there for me when Claudia passed. Your hugs, love and comfort during our last visit will forever be in my heart. Rest easy my dear cuzzin, I pray the fishing, hunting and golf in heaven is bountiful. Give my love to all the family that awaits my arrival. Jim

My dear friend, I don’t know if there are ever enough words to capture what your friendship has meant to me, but I want to try — because you deserve that and so much more. You’ve been one of my best friends , my laughter on dark days, my voice of reason, and my partner in crime. I am a better person because of you. We don't know Gods plans for any of us. We may even say why me, but we must trust in him. It breaks my heart to say goodbye ( for now), but I want you to know this — you will always live on in my heart. Every joke, every talk, every silent moment we shared will stay with me. I know you don't want to leave Ellen and the girls and the grandkids. But know my friend you were a great husband, Dad they could ever asked for I love you brother, and I thank you for being the incredible friend that you are. I’m going to carry your light with me wherever I go. Rest peacefully, knowing you’ve made a difference in this world — especially in mine. Until we meet again.

Having Mike next door always provided a sense of security, especially when Greg worked third shift. I always knew he was just a phone call away. He would sled with our kids on snow days, and take them for rides around the neighborhood on nice days. Mike truly understood what it meant to be a neighbor. He was one-of-a-kind and will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know him.
