Michael Allen “Mike” Pomeroy, Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Michael Allen Pomeroy Sr. on August 27, 2024. Born in Austin, MN, he was the beloved husband to Barbara Rigdon Pomeroy for 55 years and a son of the late Ruth Noah Warwick and Ralph Francis Pomeroy. Mike, a proud US Marine Corp. veteran, served his country with bravery during the Vietnam war era. Retiring as a superintendent in the construction industry, Mike was known for his strong leadership and dedication to his work.

Devoted to the outdoors, Mike found solace in hunting, fishing, and gold dredging, building a remarkable collection of knives and Native American artifacts along the way. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family. A man of faith, Mike was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where he found comfort and community. His passion for the outdoors and dedication to his family will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sande Pomeroy of Liberty; a son, Michael Allen Pomeroy, Jr. (Tammy) of Simpsonville; five grandchildren, Austin Crump (C.C.), Jake Pomeroy (Allyson), Ashtyn Smith (Walker), Ryan Crump (Meagan) and Kirstyn Pomeroy; six great-grandchildren; and numerous sisters.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by several brothers.

A memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life will be hosted by the family on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 126 Randall Road Easley, SC 29642.
