It is with a mix of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of LV Holder, who left this world peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer on March 6, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on November 5, 1953, in Six Mile, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Samuel Vernon and Lillie Mae Merck Holder. LV grew up with a love for life, family, and the great outdoors.
LV dedicated many years of his life to working as an electrician in the construction industry with various companies but most recently with Utility Electric, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and incredible skills. His talent for building was evident in the three homes he constructed for his family, showcasing his ability to bring dreams to life with his hands.
An avid NASCAR fan, LV also found joy in raising chickens, reveling in simple pleasures. He held a special place in his heart for his beloved family, particularly his two great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shelia Chappell Holder; children Melissa Ray (Gene), Lonny Holder (Melissa), and Sabrena Livengood; five grandchildren, Courtney Lee, Augusta Willimon, Ethan Holder, Hailey Livengood and Alora Livengood; two great grandchildren, Easton Lee and Melody Lee; three sisters Louise Black, Carolyn Dodgens, Linda Holder; five brothers Leland, Leonard, Lester, Louis, and Luther Holder.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Chambers; and two brothers, Leroy and Lloyd Holder.
As we honor LV’s remarkable life, we invite friends and family to join us for his funeral service in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 3:00 PM A. visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:30 PM at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
LV Holder’s legacy will continue to live on through the love he shared, the memories made, and the lessons taught. Let’s come together to celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will always be remembered.
