Kenneth Campbell, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Liberty, SC on August 18, 2024.
Born in Anderson, SC on July 16, 1942, he was a son of the late Dorothy Hazel Campbell Garrett, but he was raised by his Great Grandmother Poole. He was a devoted follower of Christ and was a member of the Church of God faith. He was a dedicated security guard at American Security, where he devoted his time and energy ensuring the safety of others at the same cotton mill, he worked at prior to his transition to security.
He was a proud National Guard veteran, serving his country with honor from August 1960 to August 1966. He will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially for his passion for fishing, swimming, and listening to the soothing sound of rain falling. He found joy in the simple things in life – from tending to his lawnmower to cutting grass in the warm sunshine.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Martin Campbell of the home; his children, Pamela Elgin (Michael) of Powdersville, Sharon Bishop (James) of Greenville, Deonna Roper (Travis) of Liberty, Steven Campbell of Liberty, and David Campbell of Pickens; his grandchildren, Brittany, Chloe, Jade, Michael, and Christian; step grandchildren, Hannah, T.J., Brianna, and Dillon; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Kinsley, Hudson, Khloe, and Brynlee; also surviving are two sisters, Janice and Lucia.
Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. Campbell will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Liberty Memorial Gardens. No formal visitation is planned.
