Pressley Harmon

Greenville, SC

Johnny Pressley Harmon III passed away at the age of 56 on April 25, 2023, in Greenville, South Carolina. Pressley was born on September 29, 1966, in Columbia, SC, as the youngest of six children, with five older sisters. He graduated from Richland Northeast High School, Class of 1984.

In 1997, Pressley married Angela “Angie” Trapp. They had two children, Taylor and Kaycee. Pressley loved his family deeply. He worked in the mortgage industry for many years and was most recently employed at Truist Financial Corporation. Pressley was a loyal Gamecock fan and never missed watching a USC football game. He loved all kinds of music, especially 80s rock music. As an avid reader, he loved having coffee with a good fiction book, and always shared his good reads with everyone. In recent years, his favorite book had become The Bible. Through studying God’s word, he discovered true peace in serving the Lord. He took every opportunity on social media to share his faith and encourage others daily while being a regular attendee at Five Point Church in Easley, SC. Loved by all who knew him, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is predeceased by his father, Reverend Johnny Pressley (“J.P.”) Harmon Jr., a sister Susan Harmon and brother-in-law, Chuck Powell.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Angie, daughters Taylor Kwak (Joon) and Kaycee Abdrabbo (Ahmed), mother Shirley Harmon, sisters Kathy Powell, Jenny Patterson (Ted), Elaine Harmon, and Dale McMahan (Rich), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and lifelong friends.

Pressley’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service, 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Liberty Mortuary, 30 South Palmetto Street, Liberty, SC. Prior to the memorial service, the family will have an informal gathering of friends between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Five Point Church Youth at 5pointchurch.com.

Pressley seemed to always know when you needed a laugh and was there when you needed somebody to listen. We are better by knowing Presley. May he be as blessed in the next life as we were in this one by knowing him. Our thoughts are with Angie, Taylor & Kaycee during this time.

Angie, Taylor and Kaycee, I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Uncle Presley. I know the hurt and pain you are feeling. I will miss his laugh and his smile. He was so kind and loving. I am finding peace in the fact that he is with the lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Presley and my Dad are rejoicing in Heaven together and we shall see them again.
