It is with profound sadness and heartfelt reverence that we announce the passing of Jerry Brock, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and community member, who left this world peacefully on June 11, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on April 10, 1940, in Greenville, South Carolina, he was a son of the late George Clarence Brock, Jr., and Hester Mae Cisson Brock Hendricks.
Jerry made his home in Liberty, where he lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, service, and dedication.
Jerry was well-known in the community for his work as an industrial engineer and manager, spending many years at Dan River Mills, J&S Housekeeping (part owner), Glenco Fireplaces, Grant Ford, and Pickens Country Club Pro Shop. His professional accomplishments were rivaled only by his commitment to his community as a former City Councilman of Liberty, where he made a lasting impact through his service and leadership.
He was a Charter Member of Pickens Country Club which was a special and important part of his life where he held legendary status among all the members and his friends.
A proud member of Secona Baptist Church, Jerry embraced life’s blessings and inspired others with his unwavering faith and love for everyone. His love for sports was evident, as he passionately coached his sons, Don, Steve, and Jeff, in baseball, basketball and football, developing their love for the game but more importantly fostering their love for family and spending time together. Even more than his own boys, he adored being involved with his grandchildren and great grandchildren in all their many endeavors.
Those left to cherish his memory include his three boys, Jeff Brock (Wanda), Steve Brock (Melanie), and Don Brock (Donna); a special friend, Judy Looper Wood; one sister, Ann Lovell (Jim); twelve grandchildren, Julia Brock, Will Hixon (Jennifer), Cortney Mae Wright, Bailee Sandifer (Sam), Bowen Brock (Matalyn), Taylor Brock, Benjamin Brock, Logan Brock, Bryson Brock, Braxton Brock, Maggie Sizemore, and Ben Sizemore; also surviving are three great grandchildren, John Ripp Sandifer, Palmer Sandifer, and James Donovan Sandifer; his bonus daughter, Graham Sizemore (Rick).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Amick, and two grandchildren, Leighanna Brock and Stephen D. Brock, Jr.
In honor of Jerry’s life, a memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:30 PM at the mortuary.
Jerry Brock will be deeply missed but eternally remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit. As we gather to honor his life, we celebrate not just his passing but the incredible journey he took through this world-a journey filled with love, laughter, and an enduring commitment to his family and community.
