Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Evatt will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, November 20, 2022 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Private burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 1:45 PM at the mortuary.

James Clayton Evatt, 75, of Chester, formerly of Liberty, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the home of his daughter. Born in Liberty, he was a son of the late Willie T. and Allene Brooks Evatt.

He retired from Davis Electrical where he worked as an electrician for many years and was a member of East Side Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife, Sheryl Wade Evatt of the home; a daughter, Anne Faulkenberry and her husband Rev. Lewis Faulkenberry of Chester; 2 grandchildren, Kaleb Anthony Faulkenberry (Raegan), and Samuel Isaac Faulkenberry; a brother, Donnie Evatt of Easley; a sister, Nancy Anderson of Liberty.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Evatt.
